November 18th
Head’s been in a complete fog since the estate agent announced that the sale of my house has fallen through. This means that I have no money to fund the final year of the MA course. The stress has aggravated the M.E. and the pains everywhere have become unbearable and headfog too dense to write this blog. However today I’m gonna try and write something. I need to draft proposal Matthew Britton so that he at least gets a sense of the project for the professional practise module.
Ok then….. lying in bed this morning…. I’m finding that the daydream mode of a lie in helps me to mull thoughts …. Then to get up and write this blog immediately. As the day unfolds the fog descends…. It’s doing so now…. But I’ll fight it ……write it…. And hopefully it’ll make sense on a reread in a few days time.
Last week I called the project Cartch 22….. as my work is all about a manual approach to the production of art…. and the irony of having to use a computer to get the work out there…. To be seen.
Then this week…. Something has nagged at me ….. the idea wouldn’t fall into place….. I hoped that I could ask the world to paint 20 x 20 canvases as I did the first MA module…… but the thought that people would rush out to buy paint ….then paint… photograph and send me the jpeg to upload…. Was a little hopeful….. so this morning… the penny has dropped…..
WHY NOT embrace technology more fully and ask the world to use a paint programme to produce a response…

Simple maybe best
So I can provide the link to the music that I’m using to produce my own painting. I might provide poetry to strengthen the theme…. And possible alternatives….. or allow free choice of music BUT
Consistency would make the results more powerful i.e. everyone interpreting one theme through one piece of music. The blog would do world-wide exactly what I do in my workshops…. The only difference is the paint programme…..SO

ARTS PRACTISE 2……. I focus on flow and the spiritual worth of Abstract Art and how the intense listening and interpretation of sounds and rhythms into pattern and colour is best practise for Mindful Wellbeing. The evidence of this comes through my work.
AND FINALLY the online sketchbook….. the CAVE…. the dinosaur (that’s me) resides….
So …..shaunraythemusicpainter…. is a dinosaur that occasionally becomes an innovator …. He has a website where his work can be seen with his thoughts about the spiritual depths of Abstract Art can be shared…. Up to date articles on colour research etc / workshops in the community….… found in THE CAVE….. a secret blog accessed on request with a password….. and the blog gallery containing the computer generated versions of the monthly themes….

ALSO join the online artist site to ensure that you have public liability insurance….
Chepstow St Pierre….. all seems well…. I have met with the OT Sarah Morecroft and Rhian Lewis (Volunteers) to fill in all necessary paperwork….. contacted GP to get all immunisation information for the Occupational Health details…. Then hand delivered this to speed things up…. Went back to teaching agency to get DBS checks underway… online update service also activated………
Chepstow are initiating a programme of CST…. (cognitive stimulation therapy) across the wards and community for dementia onset patients. The aim is to try to slow down the need for hospitalisation…. I have made contact at the right time…. And rather than me suggesting that my workshops can help please use me….. they speak about how they want to use me …. How what why where and when…. It’s so refreshing and exciting to finally converse with health officials that are DOING what it takes to make mindful magic happen…!!! IT AINT ROCKET SCIENCE…. To run the workshops….. to explain exactly how the magic works is!!.....
The exploration of what science is beginning to recognise about Abstract Art and its ability to help science understand how the brain processes information is really interesting. My belief that the supposed random marks and colours that are used in the translation of sound and rhythm maybe aren’t that random can be explored more fully in my work this year. If there is a positive response to the blog then vision science will have hundreds of works where control has been active…. Rather than yet another passive colour study!!
